Glenbard East High School

Class of 1986

10-01-2006 - Email to Classmates

Greetings everyone!

The reunion is fast approaching and I wanted to share with you some information on each of the events and what to expect.

It’s also not too late for you to register for the reunion. We’ve had so many late reservations that we will keep the online store open until Thurs., Oct. 5. So if you’re still on the fence and not sure, what have you got to lose? I guarantee you will have a great time… Take the reunion committee for example…how diverse a group can you get? Most of us didn’t even hang in school but yet over the course of the last year it seems like we’ve been friends for years. You won’t have this opportunity for another 5 or 10 years…so come and join your fellow classmates! We sincerely want to see everyone!!

If you still need a hotel room for the reunion please note that Indian Lakes is sold out for Sat., Oct. 7. I have contacted the Courtyard Marriott in Bloomingdale and they have vacancies available starting at $79. Call 630-529-9200 or visit http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/CHIBG to make a reservation. I am working to coordinate a shuttle to the Courtyard should anyone need transportation to that hotel from the resort after the gala on Sat.

Friday, Oct. 6 - Homecoming and Welcome Home Mixer

6:30 p.m. Tour of the School – Meet at Coach Carter’s alumni Tent north end of the field.

Reunion Q & A

Q: What should I wear for Saturday evening?
A: Dressy or semi-formal – be comfortable. I also heard the forecast may be in the 80s that weekend which would be nice but bear this in when planning what the wear. Men: Dress pants, khaki’s, shirt and tie or no tie (whatever you’re comfortable in), Note NO JACKET REQUIRED! Ladies: dress, pantsuit – be comfortable.

Q: How much money should I bring to the reunion (Sat night)?
A: This will depend upon much you plan to drink. We have spread out our three hour open bar over the course of the evening to maximize your drinking pleasure. If you plan on purchasing the reunion photo CD, panoramic photo and memory booklet – plan to spend an extra $50 and then whatever you plan to drink when the bar is cash bar which should be minimal considering how we spaced it out over the course of the evening.

Can’t wait to see everyone next weekend!!
