Current occupation or job title: Lead Pastor
Current employer: Christ Community Church - Omaha, NE
Brief job description: Lead and teach a large church with a 50+ member staff team in - believe it or not - the middle of Omaha, Nebraska.
Future goals: I'd love to visit every continent on the planet. I desire to live a life of adventure, positively impacting many lives. I want to love my wife deeply and raise my kids to be wise, loving and impactful.
Highpoints of your life since high school? Easy - getting married to the girl of my dreams - I married way up! Of course, the amazing birth of my four kids have to make the highpoint list. (one after 35 hours of labor - gee, was I tired!) Beyond that, rappelling in the Rockies, skipping stones in the Indian Ocean, snorkeling in the Keys, art museums in Amsterdam, long walks with my beautiful wife, leisurely times at Cedar Campus in Michigan's U.P., making appearances on CNN and other local/national news shows, getting published, keeping most of my hair and watching the Fighting Illini (almost) win the national championships in hoops. Some of the best moments, too, are watching my kids do stuff for the first time - catch a fly ball, ride a bike, speak Spanish...I'll tell 'ya George Bailey, it's a wonderful life!
What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)? Favorite Teacher - clearly Madame Bell of French fame. All the guys had a crush on her, but of course I simply appreciated her intelligence, wit, and warmth :) I'll never forget long hours in the gymnastics balcony, ditching class to go to Wrigley, Circus Stunts performances - cramming 11 into the Ford LTD (the BEAST from EAST) and running stop signs. Matching wits with Mo-K-B, Dr. Spanogle and Mr. McHenry was always entertaining. OH! and how can we forget the sominex teaching of Ms. Donnely and the leftist indoctrination of Radical Alice Gregory!
Which was your favorite song or performer in high school? Rush - Spirit of the Radio
Which is your favorite performer or song today? Kansas - =The Wall
Places you've lived: Champaign, IL - 1986-1999 Algonquin, IL - 1999-2006
Omaha, NE - March 2006-present
Places you've traveled: All over the United States, Also to the Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, England, Sweeden, Switzerland, Canada and Mexico. What an adventure!
What are your hobbies and interests? I love to invest in my kids these days - coaching baseball, playing kickball, extended conversations at bedtime, reading together and travelling. I also ride my bike to stay semi-fit, do home-improvement stuff play board games and...I am learning to paint.
Message(s) you'd like to post for fellow classmate(s)? Hey!
